Food processing manufacturer moves onto new campus in Gainesville

CMS Mechanical Solutions recently moved into a new 93,000-square-foot headquarters in Gainesville following seven years of company growth and expansion.

CMS manufactures equipment for serving poultry, turkey, pork, beef, vegetables, fruits, nuts and fish, as well as pet food. Additionally, they manufacture vacuum systems, metal detectors and other further food processing machines.

The expansion into the new building is reportedly due to the level of growth CMS has seen over the past seven years, since opening in 2016.

“This move was a significant next step to support current customer and manufacturing needs, our recent diversification into additional vertical markets, and future expansion plans into Latin America,” CMS President Heath Jarrett said. “Our new 7,700-square-foot office facility brings together our management, engineering, design, and administrative staff to foster collaboration and greater production efficiencies.”

The new campus is six times bigger than the previous location and houses business offices, manufacturing, warehousing, research and development and a training center, according to CMS officials.

State-of-the-art systems on the manufacturing side of things include a new laser with an auto-loading system, a plate roller, two manual lathes, two new mills, a table saw, sand-blasting rooms, a nitrogen generator and two 150-horsepower air compressors, among other upgrades.

“The investment in production equipment was a key part of our expansion plan to further broaden our manufacturing capabilities, meet our customers’ needs with greater efficiencies and improve delivery lead times,” Jarrett said. “All of our manufacturing facilities buildings have been updated and are now climate controlled.”
