Forsyth County man arrested on child molestation charge

By Austin Eller News Director

A Forsyth County man was booked at the Hall County Jail Monday on a felony child molestation charge in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred in July.

According to Derreck Booth, public information officer with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, deputies transported Joseph T. Satterfield, 34, of Cumming, from the Forsyth County Jail to Hall County Monday to face felony charges of sexual battery and child molestation.

The investigation began on July 12 when Hall County deputies responded to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville where a family member had taken the victim for evaluation.

Booth said investigators believe the family member, victim and Satterfield spent the night at a home off of Atlanta Highway in the Chicopee area.

"The family member awoke to find Satterfield inappropriately touching the victim, a female child under the age of 16," Booth said. "The family member confronted Satterfield, and he left the residence."

The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
