Camper trailer sustains ‘heavy damage’ during fire in Banks County, no one injured

A Friday morning blaze reportedly caused heavy damage to a camper trailer in Banks County on Timberlane Street in Homer, and no injuries were reported.

Banks County Fire and Emergency Services and the Homer Fire Department responded to reports of a fire on 153 Timberlane Street in Homer at approximately 10:20 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found a camper trailer with smoke showing from the roof area, Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols said Friday.

The camper trailer was being used as a residence, but no one was home at the time of the fire.

Crews were able to quickly contain the fire, but the residence did receive heavy damage, according to reports. American Red Cross was called in to assist the family impacted by the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Homer Fire Department.
