A Commerce woman was arrested early Saturday morning after police said a shot was fired into a vehicle in downtown Athens.

A report from Athens-Clarke County Police said their officers were called to the scene on West Clayton Street around 3:00 a.m. to a report of a shot fired. When they arrived, police said a bystander pointed them to a parked Honda Civic with two people inside.

Officers identified the two as Ashley Sosa Ledesma, age 25, and Eduardo Sosa Ledesma, age 29, both of Commerce. Officers tried to get the two to come out of the vehicle for questioning, but they said the two refused, with Ashley Ledesma allegedly putting the vehicle in gear and trying to drive away. Eduardo Ledesma was reportedly tased before officers were able to question him.

Officers eventually found surveillance video, which they said showed the two getting into an argument while walking to the vehicle before Ashley Ledesma pulled a handgun from the vehicle and pointed it at the vehicle before dropping it and reaching back to retrieve it.

A bullet hole was reportedly found in the area of the driver's seat of the car. Emergency personnel who responded to the scene said Eduardo Ledesma was not shot.

Ashley Ledesma was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault and Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer.
