Authorities identify victim in fatal Hall County hit-and-run

Authorities released Thursday the name of the man who was killed in a hit-and-run Tuesday evening in Hall County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the victim in the incident on Spring Road was Brian Baker, 34, of Gainesville.

The incident happened at about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday near Skelton Road, when a green pickup truck struck Baker in the roadway.

Authorities continue to search for the driver who fled the scene following the incident.

Authorities are searching for a driver who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday evening on a Hall County roadway.

According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, troopers responded at about 9:10 p.m. to the scene of the crash on Spring Road near Skelton Road.

Officials said a green pickup truck was traveling north on Spring Road, south of Skelton Road, when it struck a person who was in the roadway. The pickup truck then left the scene and continued traveling north on Spring Road. The vehicle turned left onto Lee Street, traveled back toward Skelton Road, and turned left at Skelton Circle and turned left toward State Route 369.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the hospital, and authorities are still working to identify the victim.
