No one was injured in a fire Tuesday morning in the food court at the Mall of Georgia in Buford.

According to a press release from Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services, firefighters responded at about 5:38 a.m. to the mall after a bystander called 911 and reported the fire.

Arriving crews found a fire on the first floor in a storage room behind one of the restaurants in the food court area. Sprinklers were activated and the fire was held back due to the emergency equipment. Firefighters used a hose line to completely extinguish the flames.

The building's ventilation system was used to remove smoke from the building. Fans were also brought in to help ventilate the back hallway and fire room.

Heavy fire damage was found but contained to the storage room.

No injuries were reported. Firefighters evacuated the entire mall out of precaution.

Fire investigators determined the cause of the fire was electrical in nature near a light fixture in the area. The fire was accidental.
