Habitat for Humanity to host ‘Boots, Boogie and Builds’ themed event at Bourbon Brothers

The Habitat for Humanity of Hall County is planning a community fundraiser event at the newly opened Bourbon Brothers and Boot Barn Hall location on Jesse Jewell Parkway.

On June 30, Habitat for Humanity is asking Hall County residents to slide into some cowboy boots, don a country hat and head downtown for the nonprofit’s first major fundraiser event since the COVID-19 pandemic. Dubbed “Habitat Rocks,” the event will kick off on the last Friday of the month, with doors opening at 6 p.m.

A strong lineup of activities is planned, including a barbeque dinner, silent auction, dancing and live performances by three different bands: Riverstreet, The Regulators and Hot Flash.

“Habitat wanted to do something that was a little more unique, so the fact that Bourbon Brothers was coming in was a great opportunity for us to do a battle of the bands-type event, which is what this fundraiser is going to be,” Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator Holly Johnson said. “Since Bourbon Brothers has the Boot Barn Hall component that is a music venue, we thought it was a great partnership because of the music element, but also just a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know a new organization in the area.”

The goal of the event is to continue efforts in raising money to build affordable homes in the Hall County community for those in need. Habitat for Humanity of Hall County was founded in 1989 and recently completed and dedicated homes 68 and 69. Homes built by Habitat for Humanity are not given away but are sold to families who are able to finance the property through the nonprofit, which applies a zero-percent interest rate on home loans.

“Proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards the habitat program, it's going to be directly impacting the programs that we run,” Johnson said. “Those programs are new builds and they are also repair programs that we have helping active adults in the Hall County area.”

The primary form of attendance will come through various sponsorship levels, starting at the “Solid Foundations” $1,500 mark. That level will provide donors with a table of eight seats on the main level, along with one drink ticket per person and recognition at the event. From there, the sponsorships rise to the “Dream Builders” $5,000 mark, and then on to the “Golden Hammer” $10,000 level, with additional benefits at each tier.

Habitat for Humanity of Hall County is a local affiliate of the larger umbrella nonprofit organization. The local organization currently has plans for a comedy-themed fundraiser event in the fall.
