Rabun County authorities are searching for four suspects from South Carolina after drugs were found in a hotel in Dillard last week.

In a social media post Monday, Rabun County Sheriff's Office officials said deputies were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 441 at Betty's Creek Road in Dillard on May 31 when they found the vehicle unoccupied at the scene. Officials said suspected narcotics were found in the vehicle.

During an investigation, authorities learned that the occupants of the vehicle were staying at a hotel nearby. When they searched the hotel, they reportedly found 40 grams of methamphetamine, more than 300 grams of cocaine and 10 grams of crack cocaine.

The estimated street value of the drugs was listed at over $36,000.

The sheriff's office has now taken out warrants for the following suspects in the case.

  • Kerri Boggs of Walhalla, South Carolina
  • Lewis Stewart of Walhalla, South Carolina
  • Cassidy Loper of Walhalla, South Carolina
  • Fredricko Craig of Florence, South Carolina

Several firearms were also found in the hotel, with one of them reportedly being stolen.

Sheriff Chad Nichols said investigators believe the suspects may have fled back into South Carolina.

"We are in contact with authorities in South Carolina and they are actively searching for these four individuals," Nichols said.

Anyone with information on the suspects' locations is asked to contact police.
