Phased closings of Hall County Government Center parking lot to begin Sunday

By AccessWDUN Staff
Phased closings of the Hall County Government Center parking lots and access drives will begin on Sunday critical maintenance and upgrades.

The scope of maintenance and upgrades includes milling, patching, paving, striping, and installing speed tables to replace existing speed bumps, with funding coming from SPLOST VIII.  Assistant County Administrator, Casey Ramsey said in a press release that the upgrades and maintenance being completed during the closures will ensure a safer and more efficient parking experience for everyone.

The first phase of the project will involve the closure of the three parking lots to the northwest of the Government Center, including the closure of the access road from Free Chapel and the rear building access drive. During Phase one, visitors to the Government Center will need to access parking by the main entrance on Browns Bridge Road and use the parking lots to the east of the Government Center, nearest the Hall County Sheriff’s Office Headquarters.  According to a press release, digital message boards will be posted to guide the public.

The second phase will involve the closure of the upper two lots to the northwest of the Sheriff’s Office.  The third phase will close the lower two lots. Each phase is expected to take approximately one week, and visitors will need to park in the lots not under active construction.

The fourth and final phase will take place on a Saturday to repave the traffic circle. Please note there will be no access to parking at the Government Center during the final phase. The project is expected to take a total of four weeks with completion slated for June 12, weather permitting.

The Hall County Government Center is located at 2875 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.
