Golf: North Hall girls; Cherokee Bluff boys advance to 4A state tournament

LOCUST GROVE, Ga. — The North Hall girls and Cherokee Bluff boys golf teams are headed to the Class 4A state golf tournament. 

On Monday, the Lady Trojans finished third overall in the Area 4-4A tournament at Heron Bay Golf Course. Makayla Jones shot an 82, and Lillie Mallis had an 85 to lead North Hall. Morgan Whidden turned in a 99 to complete the 266 team score. 

The North Oconee girls captured the team championship. Cherokee Bluff finished fourth overall. 

The Lady Trojans will compete in the state tournament at Braelinn Golf Club in Peachtree City, Ga., next month. 

On the boys side, Cherokee Bluff's TJ Harris shot a 74 to lead the Bears to a third-place finish. Caleb Vancil shot an 80, and Jackson Myrick and Colton Keller each scored 81. 

Lovett won the team championship. 

North Hall finished fourth overall. Wyatt Lee and Daley Williams each turned a 78 to lead the Trojans. 

The Bears will compete in the state tournament at Whitewater Creek Country Club in Fayetteville, Ga., next month.
