Emergency crews rescued a woman Saturday evening after she reportedly fell down a steep slope off Panther Creek Trail in Habersham County.

According to a press release from Habersham County Emergency Services, a bystander called 911 just before 6 p.m. to report that the woman had fallen down a 30-foot slope just after trail marker 19 about half of a mile from the falls.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Habersham County Emergency Services, Habersham County Search and Rescue, the Habersham County Sheriff's Office, Rabun County Rescue and Tallulah Falls Fire and Rescue.

Crews eventually made contact with the woman, who was conscious and alert. They used harnesses, ropes and equipment to access the woman just after 7 p.m. and got her back to the trail at 7:26 p.m.

She was transported by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center after reaching the ambulance a short time later.

The agency said the Georgia Department of Natural Resources was not able to assist with an airlift due to the location.

Panther Creek Park is located at 3995 Old Historic Highway 441 between Turnerville and Shirley Grove.
