Two people taken to hospital after Habersham County wreck

Two people, including a teenager, were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon on Gainesville Highway in Habersham County.

According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, a 17-year-old from Alto was driving a Ford Focus northbound on the roadway at about 5 p.m. with a 16-year-old passenger. The vehicle was behind a Honda Passport, which was attempting to turn left onto Crane Mill Road.

The Ford struck the Honda, causing the Honda to strike a truck, which was driving in the southbound lanes. 

Both occupants of the Ford Focus suffered possible minor injuries. The 17-year-old driver was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The driver of the Honda, 31, of Alto, also suffered possible minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The occupants of the truck were uninjured.

The driver of the Ford Focus was charged with driver to exercise due care and following too closely.
