Ivester Foundation contributes $50K to Northeast Georgia History Center

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Northeast Georgia History Center recently received a $50,000 donation from the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation that will go toward the museum's educational programming.

According to a press release from the history center, Doug and Kay Ivester dedicated the museum's Education Center in 2009 to Doug's mother, Ada Mae Ivester.

Since 2009, the Ada Mae Ivester Education Center has served thousands of students, teachers, families and patrons through its education programs, free family days, forums, homeschool days and community events.

“The support we have received from the Ivester Foundation over the years has been key to the success of the Northeast Georgia History Center," Interim Executive Director Libba Beaucham said. "Their contributions have made it possible for us to provide high-quality educational programs for the local community and even nationally through our digital programs. We have received, and continue to receive, countless comments from teachers, parents, visitors, and Members about how much our educational programs mean to them, and we have the Ivester Foundation to thank for making this possible.”
