A Buford man was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony sexual exploitation of a minor when Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators found at least 300 images of children engaged in sexual activity on his cell phone, according to county officials.

Daniel Allen McFalls, 27, dropped his cellphone off at a repair shop in Gwinnett County Oct. 20, 2022, when an employee discovered an inappropriate pornographic image and called the Gwinnett County Police Department, Spokeswoman BJ Williams with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said.

“Gwinnett County PD investigators determined that Mr. McFalls actually lived in Hall County, and they turned over the case to our investigators,” Williams said.

Hall County officials received the phone in early November of 2022 and obtained a search warrant for the device. Forensic processing was not completed until last week and investigators examined the data this week, Williams said.

“What they found was extremely shocking,” she said. “They found at least 300 still photos of children believed to be between the ages of one and 14.”

McFalls was arrested Wednesday and remains in the Hall County Jail without bond.
