Habersham County rolls out filing system to prevent property fraud

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Habersham County Superior Court Clerk's Office, in conjunction with the Georgia Superior Courts Clerks' Cooperative Authority, introduced a Filing Activity Notification System (FANS) to provide residents with tools to monitor activity regarding property filings and records.

"I continue to seek helpful opportunities that benefit property owners in Habersham County," Habersham County Clerk of Superior Court David C. Wall said in a press release Thursday.

FANS is a free, voluntary opt-in program that can be used to send electronic notifications of filing activity to individuals regarding their registered personal property, liens, and plat filings.

According to the Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Authority, the system is not guaranteed to be accurate or complete; however, the system provides property owners with tools to monitor filing activity that could help prevent property fraud.

Anyone with questions about FANS can call the Office of Superior Clerk at (706) 839-0300, or the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority customer support at (800) 304-5174 or [email protected].
