Rabun County woman pleads guilty to drug trafficking charges

A Rabun County woman pleaded guilty recently to a number of drug charges stemming from a January arrest.

A social media post by the Rabun County Sheriff's Office Thursday said Corey Beth Purcell pleaded guilty in November to charges of trafficking of heroin, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Authorities said Purcell was arrested in January of 2023 by sheriff's office officials after a drug investigation. She has been sentenced to 20 years with the first 10 to be served behind bars.

Officials reminded residents that tips can be submitted to the Rabun County Sheriff's Office either via the Rabun Sheriff app or by emailing to [email protected].
