Officials release name of man killed in Hall County roadway incident

The Georgia State Patrol released Wednesday morning the name of a man who was killed in a pedestrian accident Thursday, Dec. 21, on McEver Road in Hall County.

The agency said Anthony Oliver, 30, of Buford, was walking in the roadway near Lanier Islands Parkway at about 4 a.m. when he was hit by a Genesis sedan.

The agency is continuing to investigate the incident and has not filed any charges against the driver of the Genesis, Octavia Carter, 47, of Sugar Hill.

 

Original story published Thursday, Dec. 21, at 8:58 a.m.:

A person was killed after they were involved in a pedestrian accident Thursday morning on McEver Road in Hall County.

The Georgia State Patrol said in a release the incident happened shortly after 4 a.m. on McEver Road near Lanier Islands Parkway.

A woman from Sugar Hill was driving a Genesis sedan north on McEver Road and approaching Lanier Islands Parkway when she struck the pedestrian, who was walking in the roadway.

The driver called emergency services to report the incident shortly after the collision. 

The pedestrian died as a result of injuries sustained in the wreck. The Georgia State Patrol said they have not yet determined the identity of the person who was killed. They have not notified the next of kin.
