One person was killed and two were seriously injured in a crash in southern Lumpkin County Friday afternoon.

A report from the Georgia State Patrol said the wreck happened around 2:30 p.m. on Castleberry Bridge Road just east of Jareds Way near Auraria. Officials said a black Ford F150 was going west on the roadway when it went into the opposite lane and hit an eastbound gold F150 head-on.

The driver of the black F150, William Trey Lingerfelt, age 22 of Dawsonville, died of his injuries. The driver of the gold F150, Guadalupe Aguilar, age 45 of Oakwood, was seriously injured and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Aguilar's passenger, Hisham Abotaleb, age 53 of Dawsonville, was also injured and taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The report from the state patrol indicated that a can of electronics duster was found in Lingerfelt's hand when he was removed from the vehicle by emergency personnel. Officials said it is suspected that Lingefelt was using the duster as an inhalant and was impaired at the time of the crash.

A blood sample from Lingerfelt was taken at Northeast Georgia Medical Center's Dahlonega campus and was sent to Georgia State Patrol Post 37 in Cumming for evidence.
