The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Gainesville man Wednesday during a traffic stop on Gillsville Highway for the alleged possession of illegal drugs.

Public Information Officer B.J. Williams said James Henry Loving, Jr, 53, was driving a car occupied by a man wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and arrested the occupant identified as Chad Morrison, 21, of Gillsville.

“During the course of the investigation, deputies found illegal narcotics on Mr. Loving’s person and in his vehicle,” Williams said. “Deputies called HCSO narcotics investigators to the scene.”

Deputies recovered 33 grams of fentanyl, three grams of methamphetamine, two grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Authorities estimate the street value of the drugs to be about $5,400.

Loving is charged with felony trafficking fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine.

He remains in the Hall County Jail as of the last report.
