Graduate degrees are set to be awarded at 10 a.m. while undergraduate degrees, including The Women’s College, will be given out at 1 p.m., according to spokeswoman Alyson Shields.

“Celebrating graduates at commencement ceremonies are pinnacle events at Brenau University,” Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Jim Eck said. “On behalf of the faculty, staff and administration of Brenau, we are immensely proud of our Fall 2023 graduates and all that they have accomplished during their time at Brenau.”

The Black Faculty and Staff Association will be hosting a Nyansapo Kente Stole Ceremony at 6 p.m. on Dec. 12, where 15 students will be adorned with graduation stoles that feature the nyansapo, also known as the wisdom knot, and will walk the stage in traditional ceremonial kente cloth.

That event is free and open to all Brenau students.

For the ceremonies on Dec. 15, guest seating will be available beginning one hour before each ceremony.

More information about parking and seating can be found on the Brenau website. The ceremony will also be streamed for those who are unable to attend in person.
