The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Gillsville man Wednesday on several charges related to the sexual abuse of a child.
According to a press release from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, Esteban Panuco, 33, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Hall County Sheriff's Office Headquarters. He was charged with three counts of aggravated child molestation, one count of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of aggravated sodomy.
The agency said a preliminary investigation revealed Panuco allegedly committed the crimes against a girl under the age of 10 at his home on Turning Leaf Drive. The incidents happened between August and December 2012. Panuco reportedly knew the victim prior to the crimes.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office first learned about the alleged abuse on Sept. 24, 2023, when a family member reported it after they were informed about the allegations from the victim.
Panuco was being held in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Thursday morning. The case remains under investigation.
