This christmas season additional law enforcement agencies have joined in on the cause.
The Shop with a Hero Program allows officers to take students in need on a holiday shopping spree. The City of Winder’s Police Department and the Barrow County School System have collaborated annually through this program to help out local students.
Families are chosen from around the county through school guidance counselors and administrators.
“Our officers are able to engage with these children while shopping and immediately understand the positive impact of this program.” Chief Jim Fullington said.
This year Winder Police and all other law enforcement agencies in Barrow County will be joined by State Agencies, and first responders from Winder Fire and Barrow County Fire.
