By Access WDUN Staff

A recent traffic stop in Rabun County led to a drug bust and the arrest of two Habersham County residents.

A release from the Rabun County Sheriff's Office said their traffic stop along GA-15 in Mountain City on November 17 for a vehicle tag violation led to a K-9 search and subsequent discovery of methamphetamine inside a vehicle.

GBI and Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office Task Force agents were then called in and arrested both the driver, Michael Burton of Clarkesville, and passenger Missy Petrocelli of Mount Airy on a charge of trafficking methamphetamine.

Burton also was charged with driving with a suspended license, illegal vehicle tag and other outstanding warrants in another jurisdiction.
