A man from Mount Airy was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Saturday morning in Habersham County.
The Georgia State Patrol said in a release Francisco Matias, 22, was killed in the wreck just before 9 a.m. on Toccoa Highway near Jess Kinney Road.
Matias was driving a 2021 Hyundai Veloster south on Toccoa Highway when the vehicle drove off the west shoulder.
The vehicle struck a mailbox with its passenger side. The front of the vehicle then hit a ditch, vaulted across Jess Kinney Road and rolled several times.
Matias was ejected from the vehicle and died from injuries sustained during the crash.
The state patrol said Matias was wearing his seatbelt, but it broke during the crash.
