Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management to hold public meeting for hazard mitigation plan

By Hamilton Keener Anchor / Reporter

The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management will hold a public meeting on Tuesday for residents to learn about and share comments on the 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan update.

The meeting will be held Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. in Conference Room B of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.

In a release Gwinnett officials said attendees will be given an overview of the plan update, the county’s identified hazards and current and future mitigation projects identified during the planning process to prepare the community for hazards.

All residents are encouraged to attend as the plan covers Gwinnett’s 16 cities as well as unincorporated areas of the county.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires the plan to be updated every five years to ensure the county is eligible for federal funding. The funding addresses problems identified in the plan, including flooding.

No RSVP is needed to attend the meeting.
