Delays expected Tuesday on Ga. 400 at Exit 18 as final bridge beams installed

Work continues to widen the Ga. 400 at Ga. 369 roadway, with expected delays on Tuesday while workers install the final six new bridge beams across Ga. 400 southbound.

Delays along Ga. 400 southbound are expected Tuesday from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting, according to Forsyth County officials. Traffic delays will be spurred by a traffic pattern shift and pacing ahead of the bridge.

Contractors will be installing the final six new bridge beams across Ga. 400. Traffic pacing for the project is slated to start just south of Settingdown Road and will extend south past the newly completed Exit 18.

Additionally, traffic will be completely stopped intermittently where Ga. 400 intersects with Martin Road and County Way during the pacing operation.

Traffic along Ga. 369 will also shift during this time, in order to provide room for trucks carrying the bridge beams.

County officials are asking that people avoid this area during this time if possible. If drivers have to go through that area, officials remind people to slow down and stay alert.
