Workers at a recycling plant in Lilburn were moving a vehicle when it burst into flames Tuesday afternoon, but responding crews were able to bring the blaze under control in about an hour.
At approximately 12:10 p.m. Gwinnett County firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle fire at 105 Arcado Road NW in Lilburn. Following the initial report, multiple other reports came in regarding the same car fire, including a general fire alarm transmission from the business, according to Gwinnett County officials.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at 12:13 p.m. to find a large pile of metal debris on fire at a recycling center. Workers at the center were reportedly moving a car when it burst into flames, employees said.
Crews laid over 1,000 feet of five-inch supply line into the business along with additional streams to battle the blaze, which was brought under control by 1:11 p.m.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The cause of the fire has been ruled accidental.
