Two teenagers were arrested Friday night following an armed robbery at a residence in Gainesville that left the victim hospitalized.

The initial investigation indicated that Joshua Gutierrez, 17, of Gainesville, Andre Marcus Brooks, 17, of Flowery Branch and a third male suspect picked up the male victim, 16, from a store along Shallowford Road Friday night. The victim was picked up under the guise of going to a party, according to authorities.

Gutierrez, Brooks and the victim all knew each other prior to the incident.

Once the group got to the residence in the 1200 block of Bradford Street Extension, the suspects allegedly assaulted the victim with a baseball bat, stripped him of his clothing and fired a gunshot in his direction. They also reportedly took items from the victim and then left in a vehicle.

Hall County Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to the hospital for treatment, and he has since been released.

Hall County deputies took Gutierrez into custody Saturday night in the 700 block of Queen City Parkway. They subsequently arrested Brooks Monday morning in the 2700 block of Tumbling Creek Road after obtaining arrest warrants for both suspects.

Both Gutierrez and Brooks have been charged with felony armed robbery and aggravated assault, as well as misdemeanor battery.

Gutierrez and Brooks remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of the last report.

Authorities with Hall County are continuing to seek the third suspect in the incident.
