Driver hospitalized after tanker truck wreck on Ga. 365 in Gainesville

By AccessWDUN Staff

UPDATE:

Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers and Gainesville Police were called to SR 365 Northbound near Howard Road Wednesday afternoon to find a tanker truck carrying grain feed, driven by 47-year old Kevin Phillips of Clarkesville, failed to stop at a red traffic signal and entered the path of a Jeep Wrangler driven by 28-year old Hayley Davis of Gainesville, at around 2:15 p.m.

The tanker truck struck the front of the Jeep, and rolled over several times, separating the trailer from the tractor before blocking all travel lanes.

GSP reported that Phillips became entrapped and was eventually removed by emergency personnel before being transported to a local hospital with injuries.

GSP investigators say Davis and her unidentified passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated on site while the crash took nearly two hours to clear from the travel lanes of 365 northbound, by 4:00 p.m.
