Gainesville man charged in multiple vehicle break-ins in North Hall

A Gainesville man was arrested Friday on a warrant for entering multiple vehicles in the north end of Hall County following other similar cases seen throughout the region.

Joseph Phillip Morone, 27, of Gainesville, was arrested on Friday on a warrant for entering a vehicle on Tradition Drive, officials with the county said Monday. Over the weekend, property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office charged Morone with four more vehicle break-ins.

The additional break-ins reportedly occurred at residences on Mill Creek Road, Elrod Road and Esteva Place.

More charges are pending against Morone as the investigation continues. He is currently being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.

The county is requesting any citizens who have recently experienced vehicle break-ins to contact authorities, especially if there is security footage of the incident. The primary days investigators are concerned with are between Oct. 18 and Oct. 20.

“As these types of crimes increase all over the county, our investigators with property crimes are just reminding folks to keep their vehicles locked,” HCSO Spokeswoman B.J. Willams said. “Every single vehicle in these cases was unlocked, and there were items stolen. In addition, even if you lock your vehicle, make sure that you take your valuables out of your car at night or certainly keep them out of sight.”

This incident follows a separate case seen last week where a woman was arrested for multiple vehicle break-ins in the Flowery Branch area.
