Gas tax suspended into November for Georgia

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

Governor Brian Kemp has announced the extension of an executive order with the State of Emergency, as a result of ongoing high inflation and uncertain economic conditions.

The renewal continues the suspension of the state's excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel for another 30 days.

As a result of the executive order, the State of Emergency - and the gas tax suspension - will remain in effect until November 11th of this year.

Governor Kemp says that state's average gas price is now roughly 40 cents less than it was last month and that continued work with the General Assembly his office will keep working to return more money back to state residents.
