By Sydney Hencil Anchor/Reporter
Brenau University’s Presidents Gallery is currently home to 15 dynamic and colorful abstract paintings created by an internationally-known artist, Ferdinand Rosa.

The free and public exhibition, Excerpts in Paint, opened on Jan. 19 and will run until March 23. There will be a closing reception from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 23 with a live Zoom artist talk session with Ferdinand Rosa.

“We'll have delicious treats. We'll have wine and cheese and we can't wait. We're hoping to have some music. We'll have to see if we can get a student to play,” Director of Galleries at Brenau University Gena Brodie Robbins said.

Rosa is an abstract painter and he is inspired by primary colors and landscapes.

“His experience, feeling, seeing, smelling, tasting, whatever it is the culture and the life and the environment of wherever he is, is his inspiration for some of the abstract pieces. So it's a response, intuitive painting,” Robbins said.

The exhibition will highlight the works from Rosa's Costa Rican Rhapsody and Tsunami Eulogies Series.
