No injuries in Dacula residential fire

No one was injured in a house fire Saturday afternoon on Lakeway Drive, Dacula.  

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a 911 call about a house fire on the 2000 block of Lakeway Drive at 2:46 p.m.

The 911 caller was driving by when she noticed the house engulfed in flames.  According to a social media post by the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, the caller's boyfriend went into the residence to assist the homeowner before emergency crews arrived. 

On arrival, fire crews found a two-story home on fire with flames coming out of the attic and front door.  Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. 

No persons needed medical assistance on the scene.

The occupant of the house told fire personnel she was the only one home when she noticed smoke inside her living room.  She attempted to evacuate to the porch at the rear of the house and was found inside by the neighbor who went into the home to locate the occupant.  

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced resident.

Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services encourage residents to make sure all fire alarms are working.
