Baseball: North Hall shuts out Gilmer; Jefferson rolls past Madison

ELLIJAY, Ga. — Top-ranked North Hall scored seven runs in the top of the eighth inning to beat Gilmer, 7-0, on the road Thursday. 

Tate Brooks, Ajay Jones, Jace Bowen, Jaret Bales and Cooper Helton ignited the Trojans' rally to the win with key hits and RBIs in the inning. 

Bow finished the day 2-for-4 with a team-high three RBIs, while Bales was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Brooks, Johns and Helton added an RBI each. 

Hunter Brooks went six innings, allowing no runs, two hits and struck out 11. Baker Dyer, in relief, pitched two perfect innings with four Ks.

The Dragons (6-5, 1-0 Region 8-4A) scattered five runs across seven innings en route to the shutout win over Madison County on the road Thursday. 

Levin Jones was 2-for-2 at the plate with one RBI and scored three of the Dragons' five runs. Jase Peoples added two RBIs on a 1-for-2 performance. 

Spencer Neese earned the win, allowing just three hits, two walks and nine strikeouts in six innings of work. Brennan Carter finished the game with a perfect inning.
