Gainesville men arrested in months-long drug investigation

A months-long narcotics investigation culminate Wednesday with the arrests of two Gainesville men.

Richard Heath Milligan, 43, faces charges of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Charles Patrick Minor, 39, faces a single count in the case, having been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.

The investigation, which was conducted over the course of five months, resulted in a search warrant that was executed Wednesday at an undisclosed location in Hall County.

"Approximately two kilograms of methamphetamine was seized during this investigation, along with two firearms, and approximately four thousand dollars cash," said Trent Hillsman with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO). "The value of the methamphetamine seized in this investigation was approximately $27,000."

Hillsman said the investigation is still active, and that additional arrests are expected in the future as part of investigators' ongoing efforts.

In addition to the ARDEO, the investigation is being conducted jointly by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, Georgia State Patrol and the Department of Community Supervision.
