Fire damaged a two-story home fire on Maple Valley Drive in Buford about 9:40 Sunday night.
Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger reported the bulk of the fire was located in the attic and toward the left side of the home, and that firefighters were able to battle the fire from inside the structure initially.
Due to the amount of flames, crews relocated outside to continue their efforts when no one was found inside.
Aerial operations were used to gain height over the burning attic.
Firefighters had a knockdown on the fire by about 10:30 p.m., with units remaining on scene to ensure any remaining hot spots were extinguished.
The displaced residents denied assistance from the American Red Cross, opting to make other arrangements, Ledsinger said..
The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
