A South Carolina man drowned over the weekend at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder.
Mark McKinnon, spokesman for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources identified the victim as Gerardo Morales Gonzalez, 21, of North Charleston, SC.
McKinnon said game wardens were called to the scene of a possible drowning around 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26.
The body of the victim was located with sector scan sonar just after 5 p.m.
Gonzalez was recovered from 6.5 feet of water just inside the swimming area at the lake in the state park.
