Cornelia police warn of possible home COVID-19 vaccination scam

Cornelia Police Department has received several reports from elderly residents regarding telephone calls about home COVID-19 vaccinations.

A social media post from the department Monday states the callers attempt to confirm the elderly residents will be home at a given time so they can receive a free vaccine.

“From what we can determine at this time, this is not a service being offered,” the post reads. “If you get this call, please contact your primary physician to verify if their office is offering this. If they say no, please call (706) 778-3911 so we can come take a report.”
