Forsyth County man wanted by GBI in custody

By Lauren Hunter Multimedia Journalist

A man wanted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on several counts of child molestation turned himself in to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday.

Donnie Wayne Jackson, age 47 of Cumming, faces charges including three counts of child molestation, two counts of aggravated sexual battery and one count of sexual battery in Dawson County. He faces an additional charge of child molestation in Forsyth County.

According to a social media post by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint in June of this year that Jackson molested an underage child. The LCSO requested the GBI’s help with the case.

Investigators discovered that the locations of the incidents were in Dawson and Forsyth Counties, prompting the GBI to issue warrants in those counties.

Officials encourage anyone with information on Jackson or similar instances to contact Special Agent Jamie Abercrombie with the GBI Regional Office in Cleveland, Georgia at 706-348-4866.

This case is still under investigation.
