The body of a man who went missing in Lake Lanier over the weekend has been found.

Mark McKinnon, spokesman for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, said the body of Bentley Nwgbara, 28, surfaced in the area where a search had been underway since Saturday.

Search teams and dive crews were called to the area near Harbor Point in Buford after 4 p.m.,July 11 when Nwgbara jumped into the water and never resurfaced. The search went on into the evening and then resumed Sunday. At one point, searchers had to stop their work because of the high volume of boating activity. Crews were in the water both Monday and Tuesday until the victim's body was found at 10:30 a.m.

Nwgbara's body was released to the Hall County Coroner.
