Every Georgia basketball fan knew Anthony Edwards was a one-and-done college player.

The SEC Freshman of the Year made it official on Friday, via Twitter, that he will enter the 2020 NBA Draft.

"Georgia will always be my home but I am ready to take my game to the next level and have decided to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft," Edwards said on Twitter. "Family, friends, teammates, coaches, fans and Georgia, this one is for you. I'm excited for what the future holds and I hope you'll follow along."

Edwards started all 32 games this season and was the nation's top-scoring freshmen. Earning the SEC Freshman of the Year title, Edwards averaged 19.1 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.34 steals per game.

The announcement is not surprising. NBA Draft analysts have projected Edwards as a top pick, potentially No. 1 overall since he signed to play at UGA.

"As I reflect on my college basketball career, both on and off the court, I realize how blessed I am to have an extended family in my basketball community," Edwards said. "To my coaches, trainers, and the UGA staff, I'm thankful for all you have done for me. To my teammates, thank you for showing me that I'll have brothers in you for life. To the fans, who showed up and brought the energy to Stegman Coliseum every single night, just know -- we couldn't have done it without you."
