Early voting is now in the rearview mirror for the 2020 General Election, and Georgians turned out in record numbers, according to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.
The Secretary of State's Office released a final tally at 10 p.m. Friday, saying that more than 3.87 million voters had cast in-person and absentee ballots in the three-week early voting period. Georgia has just over seven million registered voters, according to the Secretary of State's website.
Voters who did not cast ballots during the early voting period will be able to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 3 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Those who have absentee ballots but have not returned them are being asked to take the ballots to the election office in the county where the voter is registered. Absentee ballots must be in hand at elections offices by 7 p.m. Tuesday, so mailing a ballot at this point likely means the ballot will not arrive on time to be counted.
