An Elbert County woman is found guilty of the murder of her 86-year-old grandfather Monday.

Savanna Marie Jennings was convicted of felony murder, malice murder, concealing a death, two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm, the Elberton Star reported.

Jennings was 19-years-old at the time of the incident. She was arrested along with two other teenagers William David Peterson, who was 19 at the time, of Athens, and Dakota Scott Street, who was 18 at the time, of Elbert County.

Jennings and her grandfather, Otha Perrins, lived together when the teenager reported him missing days before her arrest in January 2018.

A family member reported suspicion to the Elberton County Sheriff's Office that there was something not right about the missing person's case.

Upon further questioning, Jennings told officials she lied about her missing grandfather.

A day later, Perrin's body was discovered in a private pond off Wahatchee Creek Road with multiple gunshot wounds. A .22 caliber rifle was also recovered near the pond.

The AJC reported Peterson pleaded guilty in July to shooting Perrin and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 2048.

Street was sentenced to 30 years in prison followed by 15 years probation in August after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated assault, concealing a death and a felony firearm charge.
