City of Cumming voters to cast ballots on brunch bill this fall

A year after Forsyth County voters approved a brunch bill referendum, voters in the City of Cumming will be able to vote on a similar measure in November.

Members of Cumming City Council unanimously approved adding the referendum to the Nov. 5 ballot. An alcohol ordinance change would allow restaurants in the city limits to begin serving alcohol at 11 a.m. on Sundays instead of waiting until 12:30 p.m.

City spokeswoman Crystal Ledford said in an interview last week more than 25 eateries in the city would be affected if the vote passes.

Forsyth County voters supported the measure last November with 64.22% of the vote.
