A Hall County women was arrested early Saturday morning after apparently shooting and killing her live-in boyfriend.

Flowery Branch resident Sabrina Banks Turner, 48, faces a voluntary manslaughter charge in the case, which Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks says began around 1:45 a.m.

"Hall County dispatch received a 911 call from a female subject, who stated that she’d shot her live-in boyfriend at their residence in the 5100 block of Sable Court in Flowery Branch," he explained.

After responding to the scene, Wilbanks said authorities found Turner's boyfriend, who had died of his wounds prior to their arrival.

"Deputies and investigators...discovered 44-year-old Everton Carter deceased from a single gunshot wound to the torso," he continued. "They learned that the 911 call was placed by...Turner, who was still on the scene when they arrived."

Wilbanks said that Turner was taken into custody without incident, and was charged with one count of voluntary manslaughter after being interviewed.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the shooting was likely related to a domestic incident, and Wilbanks said the connection between that incident and the manslaughter charge would likely come out once court proceedings begin.

"I don't all the details of what went into the warrant application that would lead to the charge of voluntary manslaughter as opposed to homicide," he said. "Those details will come out a little later on in the case, I'm certain, but may be withheld until it's time to go to court."

No other individuals were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
