Oakwood PD searches for suspect who smashed glass door of business, stole merchandise

The Oakwood Police Department is on the lookout for a burglary suspect who smashed a glass door at an AT&T retail store on Winder Highway.

Sgt. Todd Templeton said in a news release the break-in happened on April 26. Oakwood PD released a surveillance photo on Monday, May 6.

"At approximately 01:30 am on the morning of 04/26/2019, an unknown male used a hammer to break the front door glass at the business," Templeton wrote in the email statement. "The male then entered the business through the broken glass and proceeded to take various cell phone accessories including chargers, cases, speakers and such."

Templeton said the suspect left the store on foot. He was wearing a zipper-style Abercrombie hoodie.

Templeton said the value of the stolen items was minimal - less than $200; damage to the store was about $900. 

The Oakwood Police Department has partnered with Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta on this case. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspect. The Crime Stoppers phone number is 404-577-8477.
