GDOT hearing this week on plans to widen a section of Dahlonega Highway

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor

The public will get a chance to comment Tuesday on plans to widen a portion of Dahlonega Highway north of Gainesville.

The project involves 4.3 miles between Price and Yellow Creek roads.

According to a posting on the Georgia Department of Transportation website, plans call for adding two lanes to the now two-lane stretch, with a median, and turn lanes.

GDOT will conduct a public information meeting on the project Tuesday, April 23, between 5:00-7:00 at Lanier Elementary School.  This will be an informal, drop-in type meeting.
