Dale McDowell and Zack Mitchell both took home Ultimate Super Late Model Series victories last week.
McDowell topped the field at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on Thursday night, while Mitchell was the winner on Saturday night at Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, North Carolina.
On Thursday night, Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, Georgia made the pass on Jimmy Owens to take the lead on lap 32, and went on to score the $10,000 “Spring Thaw” victory at Volunteer Speedway.
McDowell started the night by setting fast time in qualifying with a lap at 12.276 seconds.
Three different drivers paced the 50 lap feature. Michael Chilton led the first 13 laps before surrendering the point to Owens on lap 14.
McDowell would power around Owens with 18 laps remaining, and went on to record the win.
Owens finished in second, with Brandon Overton in third, Shannon Buckingham fourth and Ross Bailes in fifth.
On Saturday night, Zack Mitchell on Enoree, South Carolina led flag-to-flag at Friendship Motor Speedway to earn his third career series victory and a $4,000 payday.
Mitchell set fast time in qualifying with a time of 15.385 seconds, and then led from start to finish en route to the win in the 40-lap feature.
Trent Ivey, Dustin Mitchell, Dennis Franklin, and Daulton Wilson rounded out the top five.
The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will be back in action again on Saturday, April 13 at North Carolina’s Fayetteville Motor Speedway.
