Hall County launches new podcast

By AccessWDUN Staff

In an effort to better connect with the public, Hall County has launched the "Hall About Public Safety" podcast, a behind-the-scenes peek at the men and women who keep Hall County safe.

This month's episode (which you can listen to by clicking below) features Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett, who talks about the complex plans firefighters execute when they arrive on the scene of a fire.

The podcast, produced on a monthly basis, will cover both the light-hearted and the serious topics Hall County's public safety personnel face on a daily basis.

"There's often more than meets the eye when it comes to public safety, and it's important for the public to know that our personnel are more than just a badge," said Brian Stewart, Hall County Digital Media Specialist and host of the podcast

For example, have you ever wondered what happens when firefighters roll up to the scene of a fire? Turns out there's more to it than just plugging in the hose and dousing the flames, as demonstrated in Episode 1.

"The podcast will allow the public to gain insight into our operations and what our thought processes are as we respond to incidents. That gives us a chance to explain why we do some of the things we do, even if they may seem a bit strange to the naked eye," Capt. Brackett said.

Currently, the podcast can be found on the Hall County Government's Soundcloud page, where it is linked to social media and the monthly county newsletter.
