One Toccoa resident died and another was seriously injured in a head-on wreck early Thursday in Stephens County.
The wreck happened at 5:57 a.m. on Dicks Hill Parkway near Ayersville Road, a short distance from Patterson Pump, according to Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
A 2018 Ford F-150 Super Crew driven by Jeremy Lee Scalf, 28, of Toccoa was traveling south on Ga. 13 (Dicks Hill Parkway) and crossed the centerline, entering the northbound lane and into the path of a 2010 Toyota Camry driven by Connie Evans Powell, 59, of Toccoa, according to GSP.
Scalf’s truck struck Powell’s car in the front with its front, with the area of impact determined from roadway evidence, according to GSP.
Powell suffered fatal injuries.
Scalf was airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with suspected serious injuries and charges are pending, according to GSP.
